Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information — in plain English, the way we would want it explained to us.
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Who we are
AM Builder ("AM Builder", "we", "us") is an automation development business based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We build and operate custom automation systems — phone answering, lead follow-up, appointment reminders, review requests, invoicing, and reactivation campaigns — for small businesses.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@ambuilder.ca.
The two kinds of information in this policy
We handle personal information in two distinct roles, and the rules are different for each:
- Information we collect for ourselves. What you send us through this website, and what our clients share with us to run their projects. We decide how this is used, and most of this policy covers it.
- Information we process for a client. When a client hires us to text their past customers or answer their phones, we handle their customers' contact details on their behalf and under their instructions. We do not own that data, we do not sell it, and we do not reuse it for anyone else. See Data we process for clients below.
What we collect from this website
We only collect what you choose to give us. There is no account to create and no tracking profile behind the scenes.
- Contact form (/contact) — your business name, your name, email address, phone number (optional), a description of what you want automated, and your timeline.
- Audit booking (/book) — your name, business, email address, the date and time slot you request, your time zone, and any notes you add.
- Checklist download (/checklist) — your first name (optional) and email address.
- Quick message widget — the chat box in the corner of the site collects your name, email address, and your message.
We do not ask for payment details anywhere on this website.
What is collected automatically
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not build a profile of you across sites. We see aggregate numbers, not individuals. That is also why this site has no cookie banner — it does not set tracking cookies.
- Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated submissions. Google receives your IP address and interaction data for that purpose, under Google's privacy policy.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting and API providers keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and schedule the audit you asked for.
- To deliver something you requested, such as the automation checklist.
- To build, run, support, and troubleshoot a system for you if you become a client.
- To send occasional automation tips, if you opted in when you downloaded the checklist. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe here at any time.
- To keep the site and our systems secure.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a marketing list just because you filled in the contact form — that form is for talking to us about a project.
Consent
We rely on your consent, given when you submit a form or sign an agreement with us, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing support@ambuilder.ca. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it, and if you are a client it may mean we can no longer run your system.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make our work possible, and only as much as they need:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and analytics.
- Google reCAPTCHA — form spam protection.
- Twilio — sending SMS and handling phone calls.
- Google (Gmail and Google Workspace) — sending and receiving the emails our systems produce.
- Our server and database hosting — where your submission is stored so we can act on it.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. Beyond that, no one else gets it.
Where it is stored
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. That means the information may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access requests by their authorities. By using this site or engaging us, you understand that this is the case.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to 24 months so we have context if you come back, then deleted. Client records are kept for the life of the engagement and for as long afterwards as our tax and business records require. Marketing subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
How we protect it
Traffic to this site and our API is encrypted in transit. Access to client systems and stored data is restricted to the people who work on them, credentials are not shared, and our systems are monitored. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data as if it were our own.
Data we process for clients
This is the part that matters most if you are hiring us to contact your customers.
- The customer list you give us stays yours. We process it only to run the campaign or system you asked for.
- We do not sell it, rent it, share it with other clients, or use it to market our own services.
- Before a reactivation campaign goes out, we screen the list for people we are not permitted to contact, and every message carries a one-tap opt-out.
- You are responsible for having the right to contact the people on your list in the first place. In Canada that generally means consent under CASL. We will tell you if something looks wrong, but we cannot verify your consent records for you.
- When an engagement ends, we will return or delete the data you gave us on request.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA federally, and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act where it applies — you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and what we have done with it;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop sending you marketing email.
Email support@ambuilder.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Children
This site is meant for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you are a client, we will tell you directly.
